Improving Noise Performance in Electric and Hybrid Vehicles
White Paper

This paper describes recent experiences in simulating and reducing noise in an EV powertrain using a switched reluctance machine (SRM). Romax has shown that by using the correct analysis tools and by creating the right model at the right time; it is possible to simulate the noise from motors and to systematically target noise reduction during the design process. This white paper explores increasing speed, gaining more easily interpreted results and the practical application of the ODIN (Optimised electric Drivetrain by INtegration) project to create a highly integrated driveline for EVs.
